Mi You (由宓) studied media art at Communication University of China (Beijing) and Kunsthochschule für Medien (Cologne). Since October 2014, she is academic staff at Kunsthochschule für Medien focusing on global arts with a social-political, transhistorical and transcultural perspective. Her current research and teaching takes the Silk Road as a figuration for anti-nationalist, de-centralized and nomadic imageries.

Her research interests include philosophy of immanence in both Western and Chinese Neo-Confucian traditions, performance philosophy, as well as media and technology in performance.

Mi You is Alexander von Humboldt fellow and recipient of German Chancellor Fellowship (2012-2013) and alumni of Independent Curators International (New York) and Zentrum Paul Klee (Bern).
